Angus Fire is a world leading manufacturer of firefighting products and technology. The Group designs and manufactures fire and industrial hoses, foam concentrates and engineered firefighting systems. These high spec and often mission critical products are supplied to the oil and gas, aerospace, firefighting, military and utilities sectors.
The company’s broad product range includes some of the best known and most trusted brands in the industry. Its water transfer services technology in particular make it a key supplier to the shale fracturing sector.
Angus Fire was formed via the acquisition of four international trading divisions of Connecticut-based United Technology Corporation; Angus Fire Products, Angus Fire Engineering, National Foam (US) and Eau et Feu (France). It operates from Bentham, Lancaster and Thame, Oxfordshire.
The company has been established for over a century and has a combined workforce of 250 employees. It exports its products to over 100 countries with its largest markets in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America.
Epi-V hold a 21% equity stake in Angus Fire to support the £62 million MBO of the business along with LDC, the private equity branch of Lloyds Banking Group, acting as co-investors. Lloyds provided the senior debt for the transaction and the deal reached completion in under nine months.
Epi-V works with Angus Fire to improve its infrastructure, develop its products and provide strategic advice to the Company with a view to targeting new upstream oil and gas market segments, including the US shale market in which Epi-V has extensive expertise.
