25 October 2010

Epi-V-backed Moorland Energy, the oil and gas exploration and production company seeking planning permission for a gas processing facility in North Yorkshire, has appointed leading law firm DLA Piper as its legal advisers. Glenn Sharpe, Partner and Head of the Planning Team in DLA Piper's Leeds office, will be Moorland Energy's principal legal adviser.

The proposed facility, outside Thornton le Dale, will clean the natural gas from Moorland's Ebberston South well before exporting it into the National Transmission System.

Mr Sharpe, a former senior local government solicitor, specialises in the areas of infrastructure and utilities.

Lawrie Erasmus, Chief Executive of Moorland Energy, said: "DLA Piper's focus is on providing practical and innovative legal solutions that help clients to succeed. Given Glenn's expertise in planning law, we believe they will provide valuable additional resources to our team."
